Who We Are and Why Budgeting Matters
Since 2019, qorivalenth has worked with organisations across Australia to make departmental budgeting less about spreadsheets and more about sensible planning. We're not here to sell magic solutions or revolutionary tech. Just honest guidance for people who need budgets that actually work.
Established in Canberra, serving teams nationwide
What Drives Us
Most budgeting tools feel like they were built by people who never had to use them. We started qorivalenth because we'd been on the other side of those tools, frustrated by systems that made simple tasks complicated.
Our goal is straightforward: help finance teams plan departmental budgets without the usual headaches. No jargon, no overselling, just practical support for people doing important work.
Where We're Headed
By 2026, we want to be the team that Australian organisations think of when they need budgeting help that feels human. Not the biggest, not the flashiest, but the ones who actually listen and understand what real finance departments deal with daily.
We're building resources, refining our approach, and staying focused on making budgeting clearer for everyone involved.
How qorivalenth Came Together
Starting Out
Founded in Canberra after a group of us left corporate finance roles feeling like there had to be a better way to manage departmental budgets. We'd all worked with systems that made us want to throw our laptops out windows.
Finding Our Rhythm
Spent most of these two years listening to finance teams describe their frustrations. Turns out everyone was dealing with the same issues: unclear allocations, departments fighting over resources, and budgets that changed daily without anyone knowing why.
Expanding Reach
Started working with organisations beyond Canberra. Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane. Different cities, same budget headaches. We refined our approach based on what actually helped rather than what sounded impressive in presentations.
Where We Are Now
Supporting finance teams across Australia with departmental budgeting that makes sense. We've learned a lot, made plenty of mistakes, and built something we're genuinely proud of. Still focused on practical help rather than empty promises.
Meet Someone on Our Team
We're not a huge operation. Just experienced people who care about doing solid work. Here's one person who helps make it happen.
Stellan Kirkwood
Director of Financial Strategy
Stellan spent fifteen years in corporate finance before joining qorivalenth in 2020. He's worked with everyone from government departments to mid-sized companies struggling with budget allocation. What he's good at is breaking down complicated financial situations into language that doesn't require an accounting degree to understand. Outside work, he's probably hiking somewhere near the coast or attempting to fix things around his house with varying degrees of success.
What Matters to Us
Honest Communication
We tell you what we can actually do, not what sounds good in a pitch. If something won't work for your situation, we'll say so upfront.
Practical Solutions
Budgeting doesn't need to be complicated. We focus on approaches that fit real workflows rather than forcing teams to adapt to rigid systems.
Continuous Learning
Every organisation we work with teaches us something. We listen, adapt, and improve based on actual feedback rather than assumptions.
Respect for Expertise
You know your organisation better than we ever will. We're here to support your knowledge, not replace it with generic advice.
Transparency
No hidden catches or surprise complexity. What we explain upfront is what you'll get throughout our working relationship.
Long-term Thinking
We're not chasing quick wins. Building sustainable budgeting practices takes time, and we're committed to supporting that process properly.
